# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • These tiny sandwiches transform any ordinary afternoon into something worth celebrating
  • You can prepare everything ahead and assemble them just before guests arrive
  • The variety of fillings means there's something perfect for every palate
02 -
  • Work quickly once you start assembling—bread hearts can dry out faster than you expect
  • Don't stack assembled sandwiches directly on top of each other or they'll stick together and tear when separated
  • The egg salad can make bread soggy if assembled too far ahead, so save those for last or add a protective layer of butter first
03 -
  • Chill your cookie cutter in the freezer for 10 minutes before cutting—the cold metal cuts cleaner edges through soft bread
  • If your bread is slightly dry, lightly mist it with water before cutting to prevent cracking and crumbling
  • Press down gently but firmly when assembling, just enough to make the sandwich hold together without squishing out the fillings
