# What You'll Need:

→ Fish

01 - 4 skinless salmon fillets, 5.3 oz each

→ Glaze

02 - 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
03 - 2 tbsp honey
04 - 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
05 - 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
06 - 1 clove garlic, minced
07 - 1 tsp orange zest
08 - 1/2 tsp sesame oil
09 - 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
10 - 1/4 tsp salt

→ Garnish

11 - 2 tbsp finely sliced green onions
12 - 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
13 - Orange slices, optional

# Directions:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
02 - In a small saucepan, combine orange juice, honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, orange zest, sesame oil, pepper, and salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
03 - Place salmon fillets on prepared baking sheet. Brush each fillet generously with the orange-ginger glaze, reserving some for basting during cooking.
04 - Bake for 10-12 minutes until fish flakes easily with a fork. Halfway through baking, brush fillets with additional glaze.
05 - Remove from oven and transfer to serving plates. Drizzle with remaining glaze. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and orange slices if desired. Serve immediately.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The glaze creates this gorgeous lacquered finish that makes the salmon look like it came from a fancy restaurant, but its our little secret how simple it actually is.
  • You can have it prepped and in the oven in under 10 minutes, which has saved me countless times when unexpected guests drop by.
02 -
  • Do not overcook the salmon - it continues cooking for about a minute after removing from the oven, and overcooked salmon loses its luxurious texture.
  • The glaze will seem thin when hot but thickens beautifully as it cools, so dont be tempted to reduce it too much or it may become too sticky.
03 -
  • Pat the salmon completely dry with paper towels before glazing - this helps the glaze adhere properly instead of sliding off during baking.
  • Keep a close eye on the glaze as it reduces - the difference between perfect and burnt can happen in seconds because of the sugar content.
